2008 Measure B Debate
A debate on Measure B for the November 4 ballot took place at Hoover Middle School’s auditorium in San Jose.
Representing the Yes side was Bob Hines, Vice President General Counsel & Energy Director, Silicon Valley Leadership Group
Representing the No side was Greg Perry, former member of the VTA’s Board of Directors and past Mountain View Vice Mayor.
Note that the debate began 15 minutes late as Mr. Perry was taking the bus (the 522 Rapid from San Jose’s Diridon train station) but was late.
The debate is over one (1) hour long. Enjoy.

Coming into the debate undecided, i was immediately struck by the childish stunt pulled by Greg Perry that he didn’t show up on time. The moderators announced at 15 minutes past, that he just called and said he was running lat because he “tried to take VTA and it was late” Was he trying to make a statement? Dozens of people were left waiting and he didn’t have the decency to arrive on time. His stunt didn’t go over well. Many neighbors after the debate commented on his flippant attitude during his responses. I can tell you, I left knowing that I will be voting YES on B, and all but one that I talked to are doing the same.
